Here's what I meant by the "more money than brains" bidders on Teletrade

After seeing this bidding level, I went to my "watched" items in Ebay and bought the same medal for 75 bucks.

Actually I think the one I got is just a tad nicer.

    Any guesses on what happened?

    On TeleTrade the coins owner can set a reserve, the computer will keep bidding the coin up until it is one bid away from meeting the reserve. If the next bid doesn't come from a real buyer the coin does not sell. This is what happened here. The reserve wasn't met.

    Interesting. I really didn't know that.

    In any case, this seller set his reserve too dang high.

    Based on what I paid for mine, $100 should have been about right....
