Should I send in my submission Priority and Insured or is Registered really required?

    Hi Bob,

I've always sent my subs in using Priority w/Signature Confirmation. Never had a problem ... and my subs always get there much faster.

  • I send mine priority with DC and usually skip the insurance. The crap I sub isn't worth insuring.

Whether I register a package depends on the package's value. Somewhere around $1000 it becomes cheaper to send cards registered because the insurance is cheaper with that service. That's about the point where I'll register a package vs. sending it first class.

Oh, and to answer your question: you don't have to register your submission to PSA. It's just a matter of what amount of security you're comfortable with for your cards.

You got ripped of. When sending insured mail it comes with delivery confirmation.

Just look up the number on the insurance stub you get, it says when it was delivered.

    It always works for me.

  • Depends on the Value of the sub, if under $1000 then Priority work fine, Registered for anything from $1001 - $15,000 for me.
  • my rule of thumb was always to send registered anything that might be considered theft worthy. Registered mail by definition means anyone who touches the mail parcel has to sign for it. The ultimate recourse for shipping and selling anything I need to illustrate its travel path.

Conversely if i can afford to lose the contents priority mail is good enough.

Whichever postal service you decide on make sure you write on the box what PSA service you are using.

    Steve

    Good for you.

Not to hijack but what do you do if you're order is multiple service levels or utilizing any of the monthly specials?

Always use the quickest one. Otherwise you'll pay extra to have you box sit in a pile until they open it.
  • Always Registered - I cann't replace the cards I collect with money. They are that hard to find.
