I wonder how many uninformed will call ahead with their details before sending their coin in to "claim their reward"?

If there are 50,000 to 200,000 of these errors, I would hardly call it "rare" or "extremely rare." Percentage-wise, it is certainly scarce.

In fact, in Freeman's 20-point rarity scale, where R20 is unique, this would be R4 or R5.

On ebay they are as common as flees on a rat.

It appears that suckers (or maybe shill bidders) are also as common as fleas on a rat. These pieces are going for $600 and more.

Interesting. EF/UNC R12-R14 halfpennies go for less than that.
