Every so often

it helps to be reminded that I'm really not all that smart...

So I missed most of my Heritage picks. Outbid on the floor... Save one. It was a small purchase from yesterday. Even though it was a modest pick up, I was pretty happy - fit nicely in my collection. 1749 10 Stuiver from Utrecht. Very nice, because 1. it's the same year as my Holland example, 2. I don't have 10 stuiver from Utrecht, and 3. It's an unlisted year...

What's to not be happy about right?...

Well, it was mislabeled, and I didn't even catch it. It's not from Utrecht at all - it's from Holland. Same year as the example that's already in my collection.

DOH!!!

Guess I can't link to closed images... I'll have to post it later - sorry.

    Ha!!!

And I thought I was the only one, except in my case it would have been worse because I simply misread the description and placed a bid while lounging in the recliner. Luckily I got outbid on the floor as I really didn't need two identical coins, right down to the grade. I wasn't going to own up to it, but since you went first...
