Are eBay numismatic sellers better or worse than in the past?

Please comment based on your recent experience.

My own experience is that overgrading is as much of a problem as ever. (Most of my recent purchases have involved paper money rather than coins. Many of the sellers simply describe the note as "circulated" and use an overexposed photo, which makes it look better than it really is.) In addition, excessive shipping charges are quite common on lower priced items, though such items tend to get much lower bids than would be the case with a reasonable shipping charge.

I only get better, even the worst of me on eBay is better than not having me there at all.

Competition is tough in the coin category. Sellers have to put their customer first in order to succeed. The market will weed out the bad sellers. Ebay/Paypal rules that protect the buyer have improved. Overall ebay has become a safer place to shop. That said, buyers still have to be on their toes. It takes a few bad sales or ripoffs before the system will weed out a bad seller. A seller's track record (feedback) is the best investigative tool a buyer has. After that the ebay/paypal protections kick in. I still advise to always purchas with a credit card. It is added insurance of reversing a bad purchase/seller.

    Same as it ever was.

And you may ask yourself -- well... how did I get here?

alot better overall. Off the subject, but it seems that higher priced PCGS graded coin selling has slowly become dominated by 5-6 different sellers. It seems most of these coins are sold by "typecoin", "neyronix", "disruptek", "TNFC", "coingalleryofbocaraton" and Craig Hamling. So far I've had great experiences with "Typecoin" and Craig Hamling.
