My first visit to the Westchester County Coin Club (WCCC) since 1968 - Saw the new 75th anniversary

I attended the Wednesday May 20th monthly meeting of the WCCC.
It was my first visit in over 41 years! I last attended the club meeting when I was 15 years old and the meetings used to be held in downtown New Rochelle. Now, they meet in Scarsdale, NY. Only one member was around that remembered the old meeting place when I last attended the WCCC meetings.
I first attended the WCCC when I was 12 or 13 years old years old in 1965. I believe I started attending because my merit badge counselor was a member of the club and I had to attend as part of earning my merit badge in coin collecting. I later became an Eagle Scout in late 1967 when I was still under 15 years of age.
Jon Lerner of Scarsdale Coins, Coins Etc, etc, the President of the Club, ran a very pleasant meeting in which the various members did a show and tell. The focus was not to show how valuable the various coins the members had but to show what they had that was interesting. Medals, cleaned coins, old articles, you name it. It was all very interesting.
About 22-25 members attended (I did not count).
The club also heard from one of its YN's in which he showed us the special NGC slabbed Lincoln cent (Log Cabin reverse) in memory of Larry Gentile. 50 of them were made with a few going to Larry Gentile's family. In case any of you are not aware, Larry Gentile was a instructor in coins for YN's at various WCCC shows and he was amazing. He passed away not too long ago and is still missed by many.
Jon Lerner introduced the new 75th anniversary medals of the WCCC. They are of the rejected design of the 1938 New Rochelle half dollar Commemorative. The design is awesome.
These commems were struck by our Daniel Carr and I must say they are stunning. Awesome. Amazing. One silver and one copper. Under 100 were struck of each.
