Selling "graded" Mint cancelled coins on tv

Was checking Coin Country and saw waffled coins being sold in NGC holders that described the "coin" as brilliant uncirculated. Am I alone on this thinking that this is an outrage. I was looking at the undiscernable round slug in plastic for $40 or more. Have we gone insane or is it just me? If this is what coin collecting is becoming then I am about to find a new hobby.

Most experienced coin collectors don't waste their time watching the TV hustlers. Collect what you like and don't worry what the other "collector's" preference is. Just remember, if there is a market for any item, it will sell, if not, it won't sell..

  • my question would be: Where are they stealing them from?
