    Actually, this is a 1953-SSSSSSSS

    Or would you believe, 8 different coin mintmarks all photographed with the same identical lighting.

    Ok, enough with the cynical crap. This is one coin with a very peculier mintmark. Thank you.

  • Leo you would know better than me but it looks like a metal chip in the die at the top curve, causing extra flow around the mint mark.
    OLDER IS BETTER

    Well, I was able to look at a Wexler variety book and saw something similar with the 1954-S.
    Looks like there are about 2 or 3 S mintmarks punched in on top of another.
