Question about the February special

I have a '54 Topps Al Kaline rookie that I would like to have graded on the new special. It should grade a 5 with an outside shot at a 6. I figure a straight 5 is $150 card. This particular card has roller marks that are very common for the '54s so I figure it would probably sell for less than the $150 mark. Can I send this in with a declared value of $100? Will PSA reject it? What happens if it does grade a 6 (I've seen much worse looking 6's) and it becomes a $300 card? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • From what I was to it is whatever you declare the value to be for insurance purposes.

Thank you. I thought that's what I understood as well but I didn't want to break any major rule.

  • The declared value is for shipping/insurance purposes only. They won't kick it back unless it is a ridiculous price difference (52 Mantle w/ declared value of $100).
