Are you bummed by the sound of modern coins in your pocket?

Dang, they sound like lead fishing weights. I must be getting old. Coins today just don't jingle like the old days. Every time I drop a modern coin the tone disappoints me.

    The sound doesn;t bother me at all even though there is a significant difference!
    I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    I'm bothered when I hear a Canadian cent in my change. They sound even cheaper!

    It's not the sound.

    It's not the feel.

    It's not even the sight.

    It's the knowledge that the coins are merely junk rather than silver.


    You don't have to get over it but ohers will.

    take a handfull of 1943 steel cents and put them in your pocket. you'll feel better.

    They are also distinctly dull sounding and funny feeling.

    I recall about 30 years ago, kids didn't even know what an ice-cube tray was. Few and fewer remember the sound of silver coinage. I still keep a quarter slot machine stocked with silver. Every while I play it just for the sound of a silver pay-off. Mike
