U-Pic Insurance for mailing coins

Does anybody have any experience using U-Pic for shipping coins?

The coverage rules can be found here: http://www.u-pic.com/CoverageRules.aspx

I want to make sure it covers coins, such as slabbed gold like Saints (the site says bullion is excluded).

I've checked out DSI (they insure collectible coins), but they only insure up to $1000.

I've used U-PIC for about 5 or 6 years. They do cover coins- I have filed claims for losses which they have promptly paid. You might want to give them a call and talk to them about any concerns you have. IMO, their service is lightyears ahead of what you get through the USPS.

they do cover coins, however not to certain zip codes and onlz $500 unless you negotiate higher amount which they will not do until they get some experience with you

  • I almost went with U-PIC for insuring my coins during shipping, but I ended up going with Cabrella instead. The reason was they have a software that let me manage all my transactions, claims, and tracking in one place. It's super convenient, especially since I'm on the go all the time! I haven't had to file a claim yet knock on wood, but they offer paperless claims and resolution in 30 days or less.
Here's a link if you want to check them out: https://ecabrella.com/
