Crossover ??? Does PCGS cover over current grade, in grading room?

CoinlearnerCoinlearner Posts: 2,499 ✭✭✭✭✭
Bought a nice $20 from a forum member recently and PCGS now has it for crossover, from ANACS. Does the graders see current grade on the slab or is it covered, so not to give "suggestion" to a grade?.........image..Used that CC special for "free" submit. ...............EDIT....Will post result of submission when done....Ungradedimage....same or higher image

"Does anyone have the linky for the form"

You must be a Collectors Club member to take advantage of the free quarterly submission. If you are a CC member, just go to the submissions page and look for the "Print Submission Form" link. You'll be prompted for your emaill address and password.

As for the OP's question, it really depends upon what you speficied as the minimum acceptable grade for crossover. I believe that if you specify "ANY" that the coin gets cracked out and just graded like any other submission. If you specify an actual minimum grade then the coin only gets graded if they think it will cross at your minimum. For the later, the grade must be seen.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

The coin does not get cracked out until it has been determined that the coin is gradeable. I have had "ANY" submissions that have been returned in its original holder because of flaws.

Well, you are supposed to note the current grade on the form.
