Those engraved coins are pretty groovy, O Dead King, but the only thing in that department that I'm messin' with right now is US Seated dime love tokens. Lemme know if you come across any engraved on the reverse and holed at the top of the obverse.

I might have one or two Roman duplicates for sale soon, but nothing major.

Edit to add: AE antoninianus of Gallienus, 267 AD. SOLD!

I forget what I paid him; 'twas nine or ten bucks as I recall, maybe twelve at most. Ten bucks gets it postpaid, with some random freebie included.

I'll (sort of copy) from the last thread...I"m looking to buy image

To quote LordM (as I recall)-- "I AM NOT A CONDER COLLECTOR"-- but I am looking for Middlesex 324 (the Hendon Greyhound one).

As for medals I'm also after a Roty "Maternite" medal, and a couple by Yencesse and Bottee. Still interested in the Mom/baby themed medals in general, plus any cool (esp deco) greyhound medals.

Holy geez, the last thing I need is Thalermania. image

Geez Louise, that is some awesome stuff. Wish I could afford it. I suspect my thalermania may lie dormant for a decade or two, then suddenly flare up overnight, like the Roman coin disease did. Hopefully by then I'll have the budget for it.

WTB a set of digital calipers, if anybody knows where I can find some that are suitable for measuring coin diameters. I'm ready to move beyond the circle charts in Krause. Just something accurate to 1/10 mm, I guess- I'm not building parts for NASA or anything.

    I shall check eBay momentarily.

I'm impressed with your Roman collection.

Thanks. I am actually furiously working on a complete retooling and expansion of the Roman set. Since I haven't got much dough to spend at the moment, I am working on filling in the blanks on the coins that lack attribution and other details. I'm taking my first baby steps toward attribution, which is pretty easy n' breezy thanks to Wildwinds, God bless 'em. This is why I need the calipers. I have a gram scale for weights already.

PS- as to "Thaler Time", I only hope I live long enough to take that up. I will need considerably deeper financial resources to do so.

    But maybe one day. *sigh*

    Lord M,

Check out your local Home Depot first and see what they've got there. I bought a cheap manual vernier callipers there which works fine for coins, but I think I recall seeing a much nicer one with a little needle-and-gauge system for a little more money.

Check out Harbor freight tools Harbor Freight Tools... Priced right and the digital ones are awesome in action (I can't read the flippin "gauge type" to save my soul) no matter how hard I try to learn and understand! They are twice as nice in person! Well worth the twenty bucks or so IMHO...
