WTTF: 1970s and 80s Orioles Team Issued Postcards

I have some extra Orioles team issued PCs that I would like to trade for ones that I need. I'm collecting 1970-1986 and have recently started so I need a lot of help. I've scanned the 1971 Palmer and 1976 Reggie Jackson to give you an idea of how nice these cards are. In fact I like these more than many of the Topps issues of the same era. Here is my list of duplicates.

I have over 60 oriole issued postcards, not sure what years. Late 70's early 80's. Baby faced cal ripken, Murray, Boddicker, Lee May, Belanger, Weaver, Cal Sr. Frank Robinson, etc etc etc. Do you know a site I can determine what years they are. When I was younger a touring Oriole fan took a shine to me and sent me a bunch of Oriole stuff.

I do not know any site for these cards. I bought a book from a gentleman in Maryland that has every card from every year pictured. It is well worth the $20 price. Even with this guide it is very difficult to tell the year of issue, since the Orioles used the same photo for many years or the same photo with minor cropping variations. Also the size of each year is a clue with some years being an eighth of an inch different.

Through 1980, the backs were blank. From 1981 they have a postcard back. In 1986 they were issued with either a PC back or a safety message.

So, yes, I would be interested in what you have, but I can't give you any more information on how to determine the year without seeing them.

When I get some time, may be after the 4th, I will get you a list of what I have and try to explain what they look like.

I do know I have some blank back, some with the Orioles address stamped on the back of the postcard, about all I know about them.

I have the following to sell/trade...Bumbry,Miller,B.Robinson,McGregor,Hendricks (deceased)....all are autographed except for the Brooks.

I collect Brooks cards.Posted are some othe oriole team issue cards of Brooks from 1950s-1970s.They are not for sale or trade.
I also have a team issue poster from 1983 that has all of the team issue postcard shots on the poster-a young ripken and murray.

The card you show illustrates why collecting this set is both frustrating and fun at the same time. It looks like it is from 1970. But the same photo was used in 1971 and 1972. If his right shoulder is 3/16" from the border it probably is a 1970. If it is 5/16", it could be any of the three years.

Underneath the words "Message Text", the fourth icon is the picture icon. Click that and a box will pop up. Paste your picture's URL in the pop up box. Click OK.

Do you need any of the oriole postcards? I dont need any of the ones on your list-I am looking for a brooks robinson english's chicken lid from 1977?
