Street Cars of San Francisco do take halves...

...they only give you 25 cents worth of credit for them.

I was playing tourist there last weekend and noticed the fare box had a picture of a kennedy half near the coin slot so I tried it out. The little red LED sign showed .25 in credit.

Oh well, at least it takes them.
Some call it an accumulation not a collection

    For a while the Seattle bus fare bozes would sometimes give you 20 cents credit for a sac. I haven't tried for a while but that used to happen from time to time.
