E121 American Carmel Blank Back

Looking for someone to help me, I have come across an American Carmel Blank back, and I have been looking to see is this might be a proof or something.. Does anyone know much about these cards? I will add a scan as soon as I can..

Thanks in advance for your help!

I dont know a lot about the set, but I dont think it is a proof as I believe there were some variations on the e-121's that had blank backs.
I think there are also other cards in that era that are blank backed that look similar to the e-121's Like the "W575-1 Henry Johnson Confectioners."
Sorry I cant help more, There is a web site dedicated to e-cards out there somewhere, If I find it I will post a link.

There are 4 different sets with blank backs in the E121 style.

1922 W501 (will say "G-4-22" on top border, top and bottom border usually handcut or ripped)
1922 W575-1A (good quality photo, E121 stock, usually machine cut)
1922 W575-1B (aka W501-2, lower quality photo, W501 stock, top and bottom border are usually handcut or ripped)
1922 D-Unc. Koester's Bread (Giants and Yankee players only, handcut, some caption differences)

If you post a clear scan of the front, I can ID it for you.
  • Here are some scans.. I checked oldcardboard.com and they do not mention about blank backs..

Your card is from the set cataloged as W575-1A .......... a machine cut card cataloged in the anonymous strip card family (possibly issued with a candy or other product).

W575-1A should not be confused with the E121 American Caramel cards. E121 cards always have (American Caramel) advertising on the back.

There are a couple dozen sets that use this same style front design, they are sometimes described as being from the E121 group or style.
