I've never seen an MPL graded this high. Maybe some of the more knowlegable MPL collectors can comment on this.

It's in an old green holder, do you think they happened after grading?
Still a stellar coin with not a mark to be found.

68 money
Perhaps LMS or BWRC will chime in??
<< <i>Proofs are impossible to photograph accurately. That could be some beautiful peripheral toning and the spots are minute - it's a magnified image of a tiny coin.

I have seen this coin in hand, what Lakes said about proof photography is correct. The coin is beautiful and get ready for some eye popping results when the coin hammers down.
I bet, thanks Brian.

Exactly...this ain't no silver dollar people...those are minute
I assume in hand it would be different but I definitely would not buy this one from the photo's.
NOW at $75,000!!

hah. nice point.
as for the lincoln, severely over priced. it aint worth it in my opinion.
even if i could purchase it, it would be instant buyer's remorse.
behold! my 100,000 penny! one out of a million people would care.
then along comes joe collector with a normal dated coin that looks
almost identical and states behold my $XXXX lincoln that looks just
as fine!
Stewart Blay is the "Modern Day Pittman". I call him that all the time now - replaces "Lord Master"!!! The stories he has, and the ones that I still do not know on how he collected the best copper in the world, never ceases to amaze me. Whenever his coins come to auction, of course there will be nay-sayers, and moon-money heart-pumping.
I have had the pleasure of viewing his coins (He owns some most would be shocked are his also) and I remember the 1914 lincoln series of his the most. I was too busy looking at the 1914-D's, primarily because they are a key date, forgetting temporarily that the 1914, 1914-s (all of the best of course) and the 1914 MPL's were actually MORE VALUABLE.
There are 3 MS68 MPL's...I can guarantee you they are the best in existance. And you now have a chance to get ONE of them. You KNOW it will be quite a while before you would get a chance at another 68!!!
It may seem foolish to purchase a "simple MPL 1914" for over $100K just because it says PCGS MS68, but it is the best. Period. Stewart is having a lot of fun, as you would, selling onezies, twozees here and there, and selling for 50 to 100 times what they were originally paid for. (You would have fun too!!!).
I'm not pumping for him. Just stating the facts. Besides, I'm the high bidder as of right now.
But I'll lose. I'm not even close to what the final hammer will be...
