So I'm searching the highest priced Ripken items online and came across these two gems. If you're into items from Cal's wedding, your chance to buy is now.
It's one thing to collect cards and sports memorabilia surrounding a player. I collect Mike Schmidt. Some collect Mantle. And so on.
But when a person starts going after a sports figure's life "out of uniform", then it's gone too far. If I was Cal, in these cases, I'd keep an eye on not only any potential buyer, but also on the seller.
It's only a matter of time before we see the progression (regression is probably a better choice of words) from game used jersey/helmet/bat/etc. to game used undies. Freaks!!!!

I recall an interview with Luis Gonzalez after the gum he spit out sold for an absurd amount of money. He was so rattled by it that when he would discard anything he would not only have it shredded but have the shreds placed in different trash cans.
As far as the Ripken stuff itself goes, the items were obviously intended as a souvenir for people close to them. Maybe I shouldn't be surprised to see that someone that was at the festivity is selling stuff from the event but it does surprise me a little.
The auction page won't load for me, but someone's actually selling an autographed jock strap from Ryan Braun? I don't even want to know how someone would go about obtaining that. I guess the ball player would have to have a damn good sense of humor to sign that too.

I also found that a bit interesting. Pictures of pictures? Could be a typo judgeing by the sellers grammar though.
