Is the proof in "proof" or "Uncirculated"?

Question, on buying proof or uncirculated, is it real, nominal, or coin specific which is of more or better value, that is, choosing to collect proof vs. uncirclated , or vice versa??

I personally question the advisability of paying more than a tiny premium for proof modern silver, like the 'bay buyers often do. But as previously stated, "Whatever floats your boat."
<< <i>Depends on the coin. If you want to collect proof Bust Halves versus MS ones, then obviously the MS coins would be the lower valued coins. Howver, if we are talking about MS and Proof Roosevelt dimes, the difference in prices is negligible. >>
Not all classics follow this rule. There are some series where a PF66 would cost less than an MS66.
