The 1796 quarter eagle is the first year of issue.

Not a real attractive Liberty IMHO.

Even the eagle on the reverse reminds me of Mad Marty's "famous" chicken.

A very cool coin...one of the favorites of my collection. But decidedly unsexy!




By the way, the picture makes the coin look quite a bit worse than it really is, but still...
