Does Anyone Know where I can get a clock display like the one in this auction?

I want to make an off center cent clock and have been looking for one of these for a while. If anyone has one they do not need, I would like to buy it. Thanks, Richard.

  • I've never seen one either. I have one of the "last silver coinage clocks" in my living room. I had to replace teh movement, but it is a gorgeous clock - when I got it (5yrs ago) I replaced everything with nice MS bright white coins, and now there is some really cool tonong going on.
  • On the other hand, you could just make your own with some wood, rub on lettering, and some lucite. It'd be pretty easy to do.

    PM me, I might could do one for you.

    Seems to me I have seen one of those at some of the larger coin shows. I think in the last couple years I saw it at the Santa Clara show. I wanna say it was in 2005, and was a fairly large name dealer, but it wasn't my cup 'o tea so I didn't really pay any more attention than to think to myself, that's pretty cool!

    Most of these clocks, at least the ones made for
    Error coins (clips, off-centers, double strikes, etc.)
    were made in the 1980's as I recall.

    Most were made-to-order, and I don't recall seeing
    any empty ones (maybe one or two exceptions);
    I "collect" them when I buy them in error deals.

    The largest one I have is Two Feet X Two Feet,
    and holds 120 pcs. of 1964 Off-Center Jefferson
    Nickels. The coins are boxed in a safe, and one
    day I'll find the time to assemble to complete
    holder....it's pretty impressive to see !

    So you need off center cents in order to make a clock or do you want a clock already made? I have one made of Indian Head cents and I'd be willing to sell it, but the coins are normal. Can't remember tucking away any off center cents either so couldn't help you there. Sorry.

    If you don't know where you're going, you'll end up somewhere else.
