i bought and sold them on the Bay at or around ms-60 for between $175 and $300 but that was about a year ago.
  • tough to judge because of pics but if the upper breast of eagle is worn on the reverse and the lower two feathers on obverse are worn then its in the AU range - if you have good detail in these areas then its in BU/Gem territory and higher premium/value

    Based on the images.......Ballpark, $250 to $300.
Need a Barber Half with ANACS photo certificate. If you have one for sale please PM me. Current Ebay auctions
  • I would give it an AU-55 which gives it a value of $550.00

I thought it looked cleaned, so that's why I gave a VF to XF price.

    Were you thinking half eagle?

  • << <i>Too bad it isn't in a slab! a pcgs slab that is, then you would know for sure. Hard to tell from pics like that and what if it is bbed. >>

If I get it I will slab it, if its worth the extra 30 to do it and have 4 others worth enough to submit to make the min 5 on the order sheet I got with my membership. Guy Im trading with isnt a coin guy so having it pre slabbed isnt an option.

Thanks for the help so far in what areas to look to help with grade and thoughts on value.

This coin looks a little crude to me. Are you sure it's even real? This series has been very heavily counterfeited.

It's worth more than BULLION, so when you ask if it's worth more than melt, I'd say: Yes, providing it's genuine.

I had a 1914-D that look exactly like that.

I'd say it is a AU with a value of around $250.

Coin looks like a genuine, average AU - a tad scruffy.
