People start threads with generic questions that could be about anything...

Are their topics so boring that we won't open the thread unless its a surprise?

No offense to anyone that does this.. Just trying to figure it out.. Looking for a serious answer..

It's called the hook. Its like when the 10 oclock news mentions some hot story in their intro, and then doesnt tell you anything about it until 10:48.

The news has an obvious objective.. Get more people to watch so they get higher ratings and more money for commercials..

What is the objective here?
You get more responses to a thread with the question in the description instead of title?
