"Proof" World Series Ticket?

Hey All,
I won this World Series ticket on Ebay (I think I got a decent deal) that was sold as a "proof" ticket. Is that what it is? Did they make proof tickets to check for errors? I think I have seen other tickets in the past with the word void printed on them but never knew what they were for. Any informtion on them?
Thanks!

Proof tickets were printed to check colors and ink usually.
Usually they will have no seat designation or will have game X on them.
They used to be pretty common and not of much value, but things sure have changed....

Sorry leadoff4, I think I was the person who won that lot. I needed that for my Carlton Willey collection and I had never seen one from that game before.
And thank you to those who have replied. I knew of proof cards, but not proof tickets. I guess I may have to get PSA to grade it for me, from the auction picture, it looks like a blazer. I know this question has been asked before, but do I need to be a member of PSA's Collectors Club to get my ticket graded?
Edited for my replying to the wrong board member.
