FS 1811 O-113, R5 Bust Half Low Grd - scratched
THIS COIN HAS BEEN SOLD. 8/24/07
I have a duplicate 1811 O-113, R5 I would like to sell. The coin is RAW.
The Bust Half Nut Club defines R5 (not to be confused with R5+ or R5-) as a rarity where 47 to 63 specimens are thought to exist.
Because of the flatly struck left wing, it is tough to give the coin a grade where everyone will agree.
I am grading it as F12/VF20+. Net 12 because of the obverse scratch. With the aid of a 10x you can see a few faint hairlines on both sides.
The most recent sales history for this rare die marriage as reported in Herrman's "Auction & Mail Bid Prices Realized" is for a F-12 with an obverse scratch sold in Nov. 2005 for $355. For grades F-10 to VF-20 the historical prices from 1997 to 2005 range from a low of $298 for a F-10 to a high of $545 for a problem-free F-15 sold in 2003. There are NO recent sales histories reported for the lower grade specimens.
I am asking $375 by Postal Money Order or $385 by PayPal. I will pay for Priority Mail Insured shipping to US buyers.
If you do not know me and want to know more as to how I do business, please check my SELLER and Buyer feedback on eBay. My eBay name is "edmerlr."
Please PM me (and/or send me an e-mail to the address on my profile) if you have any interest.
If the coin is NOT sold within 14 days of this posting, I will consider other offers.
