FSH: NGC MS-68 1994 platinum maple leaf. 1/15 oz platinum, $2 denomination.
Struck only in 1994 the $2 platinum Maple Leaf of 1/15 oz. bombed in its jewelry target market. Only 1580 coins were struck and we have confirmed that almost 1000 of these were melted in the great platinum price runup of the last few years.
Only about 600 coins survive. This was a regular issue Maple Leaf bullion coin, not a special issue!!!
The Canadian Mint has ceased production of platinum Maple Leafs and this is the key type coin to the whole Maple Leaf bullion series!
