It might not hurt to at least not rule out looking at the AU50's.
thanks
<< <i>I realize that you must draw the line somewhere; however I just sold an 1842 (very common) Seated Dollar in PCGS AU50 that was as nice as any 55 and most 58's I've seen.

I think ANY seated dollar in about EF45 and above that isn't horribly cleaned or dipped to hell is a keeper. They are VERY hard to find, since most of them have been badly abused. I'll bet 95% of them are cleaned or dipped.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

<< <i>Why just PCGS? You can find nice ones in ANACS and NGC holders. I just bought one in an ANACS holder for my type set.

thats what i was thinking, buy the coin not the holder
1853 AU58 - Anacs
1847 AU53 details, not 55 or better, but very nice looking for what Anacs says is cleaned
Now.... my motto is " I buy the holder not the coin"!
please sell me some ugly dollars in high grade PCGS holders and I will be happy in my stupor!
The 1853 is somewhat interesting.........but I can't see paying the BIN price. Write me if you want to discuss it. thanks for the links.
