I inherited an ancient coin collection

I'm looking to sell off this collection which I inherited several years ago. Primarily silver Denarius of Rome

from40 BC - 350 AD includes all rulers about 80 pieces in Vf -AU plus 20 pieces from Greece & Egypt which are silver &

bronze. Does anyone sell on Ebay for a commission here or can you recommend a member that would buy the collection

outright. Any thoughts would be helpful. They have what look like a catolog # on each holder c___ and a exact desription .

Is there any one catalog that would fit this range on the Roman coins.

Sorry I have no access to a scanner or camera.

Dan

You might want to try board member "Civitas", he's one of our resident ancients people and he's a dealer.

I'm sure Josh will be along shortly anyway...image

Methinks that's because he'll be at Baltimore the following week? Just a guess.

Very bad timing to have two big shows back to back like that....

Thanks guys for getting back so quickly and for the information. I've decided to work with a board member to dispose of this collection.

It sounds like "dimples" wants to sell the collection soon and not spend time listing the coins on Ebay or a similar place.

Ancient coins are a specialized field; I would take them to a dealer and sell them.

I would first type up a list of coins from the descriptions on the holders.

Looks like I missed my chance to throw my hat in the ring on this one.

Thanks for the recommendations though, guys.

No, no table in Charlotte. I will be in Baltimore next week though as coinmickey mentioned.

We were originally expecting to do a show in Minneapolis that same weekend which we were not able to secure a table for. That's OK though. We did a show on 3/4, and another on 3/11. We should get a weekend off every now and then. image

You know Baltimore is only half the distance from you that Charlotte is. Don't know why you'd rather go down there. You know the type of people that live in the Carolinas, what with their metal detectors and coins with holes in them. It's crazy! image

Let me know when those eBay auctions start. image

True, but Charlotte has warmer weather. Also, have gotten used to that 'type of people'. image
