Does anyone know where a used copy might be available, or should I just shell out the $60 for the new one?

Is there a new edition coming out soon or what? No one has new copies of the 18th c. Krause.

It's out of print at the moment. Rumor is reprinting is uncertain at this point. If they do, expect a hefty increase in cover price would be my guess.
