On medieval coins the bust of the king was intended to represent the king, but was not a portrait. So the bust on this coin is intended to represent "the king," but was not intended to be taken as a likness of Edward I. The same portrait was used from 1279 until about 1500.

The most difficult seem to be the Edward II, for common coins they aren't that easy to find. One from every mint would be a cool little collection.
