This Edward I penny arrived yesterday. It's the 9b2 with the star on the breast.

    On medieval coins the bust of the king was intended to represent the king, but was not a portrait. So the bust on this coin is intended to represent "the king," but was not intended to be taken as a likness of Edward I. The same portrait was used from 1279 until about 1500.

    The most difficult seem to be the Edward II, for common coins they aren't that easy to find. One from every mint would be a cool little collection.

    I'm an inexperienced novice when it comes to medieval British coins, but you've got by far the best quality and most expansive collection I've ever seen, Python!
