Dinner Idea for Charlotte ANA - Thursday or Friday night.

I found a Brazilian Steak House about 20 minutes away from the Charlotte Convention Center. The place is called Rodeo Rodizio. What do you all think about getting together for dinner Thursday or Friday night next week? The cost with this coupon is $23.95 for all you can eat. You need to bring this coupon with you. I have talked with people from this restaraunt and they said Thursday would be a better night if we have a large party. I'll be more than happy to make the reservations for everyone. Some people have tables and probably won't be able to get out until the show closes at 7. I was thinking about making reeservations for around 8. We will definitley need reservations for this place.

Who wants to go out to dinner Thursday or Friday night?

My entourage and I (yes, it looks like I will have an entourage, now) will be arriving Friday, but I am not sure what time.

$23.95 with drinks and dessert is a very good price for a Brazilian Churrascaria. Come hungry. image

  • In my planned condition for Fri and Sat night, 20 mins away from the room is much too far to travel. imageimage

Is that a 20 minute walk or 20 minute DRIVE? Either way it is too far for us after flying all day.

Mrs ajaan wants to know if the ANA is having anything like the Casino Night they had in Atlanta. That is where we taught Cameron to play blackjack.

It's a 20 minute drive. If it is like the Brazilian place that I went to in Denver, it will be worth it.

Some people, due to religious reasons, can't eat meat on Friday. Mrs ajaan and I will have to pass also.

I think Ajaan is ultra-orthodox in this regard.

Yes, ladymarcovan and Victoria will be there! image

And I will be a crispy critter, since I will be working graveyard shift Thursday night before we hit the road. I might get a little sleep in the car while Lenee drives, but that'll be all I get.

It will be different because you will have to actually see me instead of merely reading my typing on a computer screen.

Since the auction looks interesting and rodizio isn't the best option for a vegetarian, I'll take a rain check. However, I could be tempted to participate in a Darkside happy hour...

Please, I'm a professional numismatist. Every hour is happy!

Seriously, let's just walk out of the show at closing time on Friday. First we drink, then you eat. The best part will be watching Lord M fall apart after one beer and no sleep. He will never live it down.

  • Last time in Charlotte we had a Darkside dinner at "Fuel City Pizza" just a block from the show. There was also a Pizza UNO across the street. We'll scout it out on Thursday, and leave a destination at Andy's table during the show Friday. image

Perfect. How about we meet at my table (Smythe) at the end of the day on Friday and march out of the show together? When you stop by, just tell anyone at the table "It's time to drink. Where's Andy?" They'll like that.

Sorry guys! I ended up skipping the coc_tail hour and going to the ANA candidates forum.

As much as I regret missing the party, I think I made the right choice. I learned a fair amount about the candidates that I didn't already know. Some are clearly good choices, others clearly not so good.
