It's in the bag.....Body Bag that is !!

The theme of this post is .... A favorite coin that was BB by TPG and why.
I'll start since I have so many image. I will note all of these were auction buys and I relied strictly on photo ( actually the photos below) and auction house descriptions. Of course none of the auction house descriptions noted any problems.

Improperly cleaned - NGC, I returned the coin to USB-Zurich with a full refund minus all my expenses of course.(+-$100)

Improperly cleaned - NGC / Slabbed by NCS- AU details and still in my collection / ELSEN Auction - Europe

Bent - NGC / Slabbed by NCS - AU details Bent and still in my collection... this one is really unfair but I figured I'd spent enough money for now and I'll try to reslab later down the line. Yes it is bent, slightly, but so are many other coins in slabs. After all it is over 250 years old / Heritage Auction

That is some nice gold! I don't know if I could have sent the first one back.

this one actually threw me for a loop. PCGS called it improperly cleaned, and I can't see any signs of it myself. I thought it would come back as AU58 or better. It's still in my collection, and I considered sending it in to NGC to see what they thought.

scan doesn't show the luster or the nice rainbow in the legends.

    Rick,
It was a tough decision, but it was an expensive coin >$1K and in "hand" even I could see that it was harshly cleaned.
