Neat numismatic philatelic item (coins on stamps)

Was doing some CD trading with a guy in Slovenia and the package he sent me happened to be franked with a neat souvenir sheet commemorating the Slovenian Euro.

I've always been a stamp collector, but have never dabbled in topical collecting. Just for fun I might embark on a "Coins on Stamps" collection. I know there are plenty of Greek issues showing ancient Greek coins. Also, if you extend it into medals, there are all sorts of stamps available. Russian stamps especially have many commemorative issues of military medals (Order of Lenin, etc.). Many Central and South American countries have issues showing banknotes.

Might be fun just for something different... relatively inexpensive too.

Indeed there are, the most interesting of which are the two series from 1959 and 1963, you should be able to find these on ebay, MNH, at reasonable prices, below cat, unlike older series. Neat sheet. image

Coinpictures - Great! Welcome back to philately. Also give me a chance to plug my Paying the Postage collection which takes that idea even further.
