Replace "stamps" with "coins" and we already see a lot of this going on, on ebay

Huge ebay stamp fraud

All the scammers that get caught and posted about here....they do the same type of "doctoring" and tricks that are reported about here...just sad really.
I mean, I don't care about stamps but I like the coins.....one would hope that fraud would be actually punishable and people repeatedly found guilty would do some hard time.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

strange that nothing is being done about it and also strange that some of the people getting fooled are supposed experts. as with our own little issues with less than scrupulous "doctors" this expose' makes the case for Frontier Justice seem rather attractive!!image

Back in 2003 I was taken by a Canadian coin scam artist. I wasn't the only one. While I ended up with a net loss of only $50 due to eBay's insurance, which paid the other $175, many others lost a lot more. A complaint was filed with the Canadian police. One of the other people taken by this scam artist tracked the scammer as he/she changed names and accounts on eBay. So far as I know, nothing ever happened. I was told by one source that unless the scam took one individual for at least $50,000 the police cases would be filed and forgotten. The scammers know this.
    All glory is fleeting.

and of course Ebay could care less if their bidders are being scammed by the truckload, as long as the crooked seller's checks don't bounce.

Depends...if ebay starts having to pay out due to their buyer's protection, then they will care. So, it isn't all scammers they don't care about it. Just the ones where something is delivered by is worked on that they don't care about.

You have to be pretty cheap to do that.
