I've gotten so used to seein' him in slick, worn-out, and/or bent bronze, that would be refreshing.
I do have one teeny little holed Nappy3 piece on my Holey Gold Hat. I forget the denominations- what was the smallest of the gold ones? 5 francs? 10?
Now I gotta dig the hat out of mothballs and go look. Sheesh.
I bought it for twenty bucks at a show. It's dated 1856, as I recall.

prolly a 5... when gold was cheap I did the 5,10,20,40,50,100 any-nappy hype-set.
I chicken out and sold when gold went through the roof. I miss the 100 and the 40 the most.
If you want a cool french gold "modern bullion" coin, go for the 100 franc angel. yummie.
