Added this to my collection earlier in the week. I'm supposed to be focusing on my core collections, not buyiing anything that strikes my fancy! Dammit, I don't want to collect French coins! Not in the least!

    Nice die break/cud! I'm surprised that a die in that condition would be used to strike gold coins. So much for regal coinage! image

    When was the last time you saw one that looked like that and when is it reasonably likely you will see it again?

    What is usual and often not seen surfaces when one is not looking for it... making the decision to buy is better than wishing you had 5 years from now.
