Will anybody here attend the Spink auction on Jan 24th?

There's a couple of lots that I'd like to bid on in the Jerry Remick sale of British Colonial and Canada sale.

I am thinking about bidding, but the terms seem a little scary - VAT (not scary, just expensive) and export licenses????

Have MrEureka eyeball them, and bid if appropriate.

I read that about the VAT and export licences but thought that they do not apply to USA.

    Am I incorrect?

Supposedly refunded but that is only a percentage of the commision (sp?) to my understanding. It is so much better to have somebody represent, and for now I do not have active representation although am working on that - you know that some aspects of how they do things over there reminds me of old Mexico! OK, don't take offense Brits...

so VAT is pretty much a small amount anyway and have not worried about it previously even on some fair priced bits.

I'll view the day before the sale and leave bids. PM me if you have specific needs.
