British Museum

Just a quick note from Heathrow. On my way back to LA. Visited the British Museum coin room on Friday. They had lots of Soho & Heaton coins (Barbados penny, Seirra Leone dollar, etc.) on display. Also an 1824 pantograph. Much, much more. Amazing stuff.
Now a 12 hour flight LHR to LAX. Later.

If you ever make it to London it really is a must-see.
Chicolini: Mint? No, no, I no like a mint. Uh - what other flavor you got?
It was mooted on Predecimal that the dies below do not match the coin; interesting anyway!
Might as well throw this one in for good measure, from the V&A:

I'd like to borrow those dies for just a bit. I'll let you know when I have the planchets competely spec'd and manufactured........just about 2-3 days should be sufficient.

Maybe you can strike some Gothic florins in gold.

Now wouldn't that be schweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!!
I actually wouldn't be surprised to see the BRM do just that. I'd like the mini-version fashioned into a 100 mil electroplated gold spoon.
