Went to Fun Show, What in the WORLD is this?
My wife and I went to the FUN show today (Sunday). Though most of the vendors had already packed up and left, we had a great time. I have to say coin collectors seem much more friendly than Gun collectors (my main passion). We are just newbies to the coin collecting thing and have mostly bought our finds out of circulation for face value. Hard to over pay at face value
. Anyway I bought 2 Swiss Francs (1943, 1956) to match my Swiss K31 rifle manufacture dates. I couldn't find a 1936 franc for my most prized gun (corresponded with the rifle's original owner/swiss soldier). I had to settle for a Swiss 2 rappen in 1936 date. Paid $15 for the lot, so not a bank breaker.

Ok that was the show and tell, below is the real question.
What is this?

I've been looking all over the web trying to find out what I can about this but all I can determine is that its a King Christian the 7th
12 skilling by Denmark I think?
All I know is that my wife saw it while talking with a very friendly lady behind the counter and just had to have it. I'm just glad it was only $25 (probably still too much but you roll the dice and take your hits right?)
Any additional info would be great.
P.S. these were our first World Coin purchases so please be kind.

Edited to say that since this is now an American possession, you have a legit "Greyside" coin!

12 Skilling
Krause Reference # 12
Compostion: .50000 silver with .0522 oz ASW
There are three different variates depending on the Mint Mark. You can distinguish this supposedly by the crown A)- Altona - Crown is tall, widely spaced , C) - Copenhagen - Symetrical crown, K) - Kongsberg - Boxey crown
I would assess yours as " Symetrical" so I would say it is a Copenhagen
This coin was struck in 1782 and not 1767. ( They are contemporary counterfiets)
Mintage: 80,000
Value: VG-$12.50 / F-$30 / VF-$100
Hope this helps.
