I think this is a duit from Gelderland, Netherlands. Though it's worn it's not a type you see that often.

Yep, it's a Gelderland copper duit, early type (KM# 30) 1626-1640, the date looks like 1633 to me. Catalogues at $5 in VG.

I knew that crest looked familiar. I had it narrowed down to Netherlands but would have needed to find Krause to know it was Gelderland. Good work, y'all. I have (or recently had) some Gelderland copper duits, but mine are "newer"- from the 1700s.
