Hi,
I bought this on eBay I think it could be a die trial but I am not sure if it's for a coin or medal.
It is maybe austrian, It is uniface the legend reads "otp. &. carn. dux. com. rittb. s. c. m. cons. intaur. velleris eques", the reverse is blank.
It is 45 mm and made from possibly tin or may be lead.
Can anyone help me please?

Edited to add: at 45mm, it's almost certainly a commem. or medal.
is that you end up being governed by inferiors. – Plato
here is one that I located the medal that it was struck for
And this one I am still looking for the medal match

Might it be a seal, similar to a wax seal on a document, but for securing a box or chest?
Just a guess.
The coins themselves are valuable enough - VF $375, EF $900. Options here are it's a genuine "lead pull" of the reverse die, or it's some kind of forger/counterfeiter testing his die out. Either way, it sounds like you might have something very odd and interesting there.

Apparently I have been awarded one DPOTD.
