Need help regarding the slabbing of Canadian Coins...
I came across some interesting Canadian coins recently, namely an extra fine or better 1858 large cent, 2 1859 large cents, (one is a double punch, I think) and an 1888 half dollar that is at least a vf, maybe better. Which is the most economical grading service to go with for these, ICCS, NGC or PCGS. I don't want to spend a ton of money on them but I want them evaluated properly. Also, the half might benefit from conservation but I am not sure. Thoughts?

U.S. Revenue Stamps
in your possibilities for choice
if they may bodybag - should consider NCS/NGC as well
$15. Add $17 shipping to USA. $5 per $1000 insurance.
All amounts in Canadian dollars. Deduct 15% for US$. Delivery time is 2-3 weeks.
ICCS doesn't perform conservation services. They don't body-bag, per se. They will
indicate cleaned, scratched, holed, etc on the printed certificate. Any cleaned MS
coin is likely to get graded MS-60, Cleaned.

ICCS is #1 for the Canadian market for resale. They will note on the holder any significant problems. ICCS holders, IMO, are not good for long term storage. The outer sleeve has PVC that could leech through the inner mylar sleeve.
PCGS is #2 (#1 for registry collectors). They are tough on copper, if there is any doubt as to originality of color it will be body bagged. PCGS world economy is $18 per coin, max value is $300 per coin. If that 1888 half is VF it's value exceeds $1000, you will need to send in as world regular, cost $40.
The NCS/NGC route for coins that need conservation works too. I haven't tried that route but have some pictures posted here that are truly amazing for results. Then cross to ICCS / PCGS later.

the design of the ICCS holder makes that more difficult. Here's an example of an auction photo
of an ICCS coin through the (double) holder and the coin in hand.
