Home World & Ancient Coins Forum

New to the forum- Hello!

I've been hanging out at the U.S. forum for a few days and thought I would poke my head in here to see what's up. One of my interests is ancients- specifically the late Roman empire from the mid 4th century to its final demise at the end of the 5th. Most people would probably be bored with a collection of dirty bronzes but they can be pretty fascinating when you take the time to learn about the history and events surrounding them. Some of the very late coins are extremely hard to find in any condition above SLUG (my own grading scale).

Well I hope to be around for awhile. Good to be here!

    Yes, and an occasional 'Almost-SLUG'

Does this one have a little PVC? Or just a little JewelLuster that didn't rinse off?

It does have a nice Look though - lots of luster remaining.

  • I like the western mints as well, Aethelred. I got a coin of Theodosius I from Alexandria though and started thinking, "Wow! the Alexandrian library was still standing when this was minted." and I've been hooked on that mint since.
