Mexican gold 50 Pesos

I am about to buy a 1947 gold mexican 50 pesos. Has anyone encountered counterfeits of this coin? Is there any easy way to tell if the coin is counterfeit or not? Weight, thicknes, etc..

I might want to check this publication, although it seems to have had limited distribution:

The Bulletin of the International Bureau for the Suppression of Counterfeit Coins (IBSCC) was issued only to International Association Professional Numismatists (IAPN) members, a dealers only organization.

The 1947 is the restrike date for this denomination they are very common and can be bought by the roll. There are no known counterfeits, so as long as you are buying from a reputable dealer there should be no problem. No, there is no way to tell an original from a restrike.
