British Dealer Starts UK's First Coin Grading Service

I was reading in CoinWorld that a British Dealer has started a Coin Grading service across the pond. CoinWorld says that the service is called Coin Grading Service Limited, but trades as CGS UK. They use the 100-point scale!!! Anyone seen their slabs anywhere?

Edited for typos.

Looks like they will be grading on a 100% scale like firearms, that will be interesting to say the least!

I don't see any list of rates nor do I see photos of their product. The jury is still very much out on this little idea.

It is funny that we use a 70 point scale that was devised with the intent of classifying large cents. I can only imagine the nonsense a 100 point scale would bring. yet at the same time, no two coins are generally alike, and I could see it being used. I doubt that we here in the states would adopt it. Too many coins are already slabbed under the 70 system.

    Good for you.
  • They were selling a few at their last auction (London Coins) apparently just done their 1000th slab.

I can't see any good reason to forsake the 70-point system for a 100-point one.
