I love those Bavarian crowns! But with Christmas around the corner I am a little tapped out here. I will check back after the first of the year...

I've used your site on and off to find interesting coins. I'm currently looking at the Zambia 1999-2003 silver elephant series. It seems like their 2003 coin changed styles to the one similar to Somalia's for 2004-2005 (adding a ring around the elephant image). Did Zambia stop making the coins in 2003 and Somalia take over? I know some coins in Africa are made with agreements between countries. Is there a connection between Zambia and Somalia for this series? Are there other countries involved?

Thanks for a great site and interesting coins.

You can find most of the Zambia elephants on the site by typing "elephant" in the search field on the homepage. Yes, the Somalia elephant series seems to be a continuation of the earlier Zambia series.

Can you find me any of those Lord of the Rings issues from New Zealand?

The New Zealand Mint has sold out of the LOTR issues. We had ten sets of the silver crowns and sold most of them to folks in Poland. If we find any sets on the secondary market we will be happy to post them on our site. We do have a few LOTR Isle of Man issues on the site which you can find by doing a "Lord of the Rings" search in the search field on our home page.

  • I spent an hour going thru your site again. I appreciate the quality of your pics and many of the coins offered. However, I found it a little difficult to navigate... I also found the WWII coins to be not what I thought. After stumbling around for an hour or so I figured I would just check for a few Nazi era coins I need to complete my collection and leave... I was surprised to find modern commemorative coins of WWII instead of 60 year old coins! Oh well, still a pleasant place to visit and you have some really great pictures there for the buyer...

As the site gets bigger, it can get a bit more complicated to navigate. One feature we do have is a "search" feature at the top of each page, so that if you are looking for an elephant coin, all you have to do is type "elephant" in the search field and it will bring up every item that has the word elephant in the title or description. If you ever have insomnia, you can just click on the "latest coins" button and view over 2,000 items in the order in which they were posted, from most recent to the ones we posted back in May when the site went live.

As for the WWII modern commems,....well, this is an NCLT site image
