I would like to do a YN giveaway- Winner in first post!

Millertimes son Michael was the winner in a random drawing of numbered slips of paper. Congratulations to him! PM me the address so I may get the coins out Monday

There are approximately 14+ nice coins to the YN involved (no junk), 8 countries, large and small denominations, 19th and 20th century, including 3 slabbed coins from ANACS, and shipping to anywhere in the world

He or she who nominates the winner will also be getting an "eyepopper" giveaway of a '64 Mexican 20 centavos I won from members who went to a coin show several years ago...(plus an extra surprise coin). imageimage

Nominations are due by the 16th of December, allowing me time to ship for the holiday.image

Long may this forum prosper and contribute to numismatists of all stripes... do you hear that PCGS?

Comments

  • I would like to nominate 4 YNs for this giveaway

Jonathan S. YN darkside collector, and a great help with our Coin Shows.

Lance N. YN collector relatively new to our club, without much focus yet.

Richard V. YN collector, new to our club Interested in everything.

Christoffer L. YN collector, my grandson, Living in Norway, and collecting animals on coins.

    Thanks,

    Bob

Beginning in February next year our local coin club will have a seperate coin club only for YNs, with special activities for them. It is a lot of work, but the rewards should also be great.
I like Ikes!! But I especially like Viking Ships, Swedish Plate Money, and all coins Scandinavian.

I appreciate the appreciation, but I would love to see more entries... well, it's only been a few hours.

This is a nice package of coins and I hope you'll think of a YN who will enjoy them.

Please enter Notlogical from the liteside forums. (and please excuse this if it ends up a double post...the first one I tried seems to have been eaten by cyberspace). In any case, this is a quote of his from the latest Legend thread:

<< <i>things like this make me wonder if this is the kind of hobby I really want to grow up doing. >>

I hate to see a nice young man like Notlogical get burned out or otherwise discouraged based on the behavior being shown over on the liteside right now. I pointed out to him that, thankfully, the way people behave while behind a monitor is not always indicative of real life. I invited him over here in the hopes that he would experience a little sanity (not that we don't have our own psychotic breaks here and there too, but not so bad...) and could find a little more satisfaction with the hobby in general.

Anyway, Notlogical is my entry into this giveaway image.

Please add my 13 yr old son Michael to your list.

When we go to the coin shows he does extra chores and saves his money for the show. The last show we went to he wanted an Australian coin, he looked through a dealers junk box and found his Australian coin and about 10 others then he saw the Australian Lunar coins and bought the Rooster (his sign). It's a lot of fun when you have someone to enjoy the hobby with.

    Thanks,
    Millertime

Please add my son Nathanael. I hate to admit it but after he got two more darkside coins from our local dealer I think he's turned.
    Prost!

Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.

I also have to commend laurentyvan for this. No matter how hard I tried to get either of my children interested in collecting, it wasn't until a YN 4th of July contest where my son was gifted with a box of goodies that he truly caught the bug. He'll now sit still with the patience of someone a lot older and closely look at coins with me. This joy brought on just because of the altruistic nature of someone else.

I'd like to nominate my sons, Mike & Matt, for the generous giveaway as well - - so you're closing in on 20! They both love browsing thru my coins as well as thru the aisles during the once-monthly local coin show. They have yet to "specialize", as they are chips off the ol' block when it comes to that. Maybe one or more of the 12+ coins will grab their interest!

    Thanks in advance!

If it's still open my boss's son Kyle B. is really getting into darkside coins!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • My sister would love to have some world coins. She's 11.

I didn't see Cladiator's inner child make the list...which is probably a good thing--if his did then you'd have to add all the rest of ours. Mine is rather close to the surface at times!
