Very Crusty Dollar! I'm not even going to try to grade it though, since I know my grading skills suck.

LIBERTY complete but weak in centers + horizontal lines in shield show wear = VF20 (ANA Grading Guide)
    When in doubt, don't.

I like it - great condition on the rim for a well circulated VF coin! Looks nice and original, to boot. Nice coin for the VF typeset.

    VF25/30

Are those little scratches on the obverse actually on the coin or an aberration of the photo? The only reason I ask is because, if they're on the coin, the picture makes them appear relatively fresh as if the coin was mishandled recently. Could be just a fluke of light, too. I do love the crusty look and those big guys are very difficult to find with an original look like that.

    Sorry -

Looks VF, with some nicks and scratches at 10 o'clock on the obv that are pretty bright and noticeable.

And if the color is actually like it appears in the photo, I'm not crazy about it - looks like its toned in a brown hue which isn't that attractive.

Better than the vast majority, that's for sure...but the rim ding and scratch on the obverse are a bit worrisome...Mike

prethen...there is a tiny scratch around Liberty's right forearm and thru the shield...I wouldnt say it was a fresh scratch however, being that this coin has been sitting in an envelope for at least 30+ years

The scratch between the 2nd and 3rd stars near Liberty's head has too much glint in it to be all that old. That one looks fresher than the rest unless, again, it's just an anamoly of the photo.

Do you think it would be graded at a major TPG with a small scratch like that?

Personally, I don't see why it wouldn't holder. However, I don't see a reason why to encapsulate it. It would look beautiful in an album.

VF30. I don't care for the color, but if you like it, that's all that counts.

Not at all bad... VF25 maybe 30, I do see the nicks though...If this were my coin, I'd put it in my 7070 album and be quite happy with it.
