    Stuart,
    Looks Super. Congratulations.

p.s. Isn't it great to have a group here that shares your passion for coins? It's no fun when a great coin comes in the mail and family members can say nothing but a dull that's nice.

I really like it. Minute ticks on the obverse consistent with the grade. There is nice cameo, also it is a near black and white IMO from the pictures. This one has a nice strike, as most cc's do. A definite thumbs up. I still haven't bought my first cc dmpl, but it will be soon, especially if I can find a nice one like yours.

Sweet looking frosted devices on your 85-CC Stuart. IMO the DMPL 85-CC's are some of the best Cameo Morgans ever produced. Excellent pick.

Stuart: as you know 1885CC's are graded a point high in terms of most (no cheek) marks, Unless this coin has a ton
of ticks in the DMPL fields. killing the refections---I'd crack it out and try it for a MS65 or MS66 at NGC!!!!!.

Regardless it is the classic :look: everyone envys. And don't believe Laura's "Market Report" about 50 0r 60 of these
available everywhere---Those are mostly white, plain, overgraded, dip-jobs!! I would be surprised Laura didn't try it herself!

the coin has a 65 look to it.

I wonder if it`s the lighting or if that is all a golden tone? It would be a stunner with a golden tone! Still it looks really good.

    Very nice.

I have bought from Legend a few times and never have been disappointed with the coin in hand. They do a pretty fair job with the pics and descriptions of coins.

I'll bet you are gonna like her.

Stu--I don't want your "impressions"--I want to know if Laura and other dealers spent MORE ON REGRADING FEES, than the coin itself!! Like I said, since it loks fully GEM--I wonder if there's a tiny hairline caused by a dirt speck in the plastic holder sent to PCGS??image

Hi Bill: This coin is in one of the older green label PCGS holders (approx 4-5th generation), so for whatever reason the coin has not been resubmitted recently to any of the TPGS's. It is a beautiful coin to see in person, and looks even better than in the digital images previously posted in this thread.

After carefully examining her, I did see some very light hairline scratches (likely from a very light wiping) which are isolated to a small porion of the obverse under Liberty's chin, and are barely detectable with low power magnification under the right lighting conditions. They are not all all obvious, and in my opinion do not detract from the coin's eye appeal. These may however, be the reason that the coin was not resubmitted for upgrade.

I will examine the coin more thoroughly tonight, as I was very busy with other things yesterday. If I can find our more about the provenance of this coin, I will let you know...
