Did 1964 Kennedy Halfs come in original rolls of 40 coins ($20)? Pic Added

Someone I know mentioned that they have these, and I always thought they came in 20 coin $10 rolls

Thanks
Tom

20-coin rolls is how I remember it too.
    When in doubt, don't.

The standard for half dollars is 20 coins in a $10 roll.

Actually there is no such thing as an "original roll," at least not before the mint started selling them a few years ago. Coins were shipped to banks in bags, and the banks rolled them for distribution.

In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
  • That's what I always thought too, but here's the pic I just got......

Many casinos roll/rolled halves in 40 coin rolls (or requested their banks and armored car companies to do so).
